Another Souvenir

Sep 30, 2008 in Beach Vacations

Traveling and Vacation for me is is such an expense but one thing I can’t refuse is when someone with a sweet voice asks you to. Specially if it’s someone you love, someone so pretty.

During those times when she asks me to go on a beach or travel to a place we haven’t been yet I always disagree because of the fact that i will be spending another fortune and second I am a homebuddy. So most of the time i like resting at home when i am not doing anything at all.

Than taking a vacation I would rather have a restful sleep at my own bedroom or put my Small Reading Glasses on and read some books. For me my bedroom is the best place to be. Aside from that I consider vacations as another work to be done specially when preparing things before going out, one of the things I hate the most.

I sometimes forget 1 or 2 things after leaving the house. It’s probably the effect of “Information Overload”, keeping your mind with busy thoughts. One of the things i keep on forgetting aside from the names of the people I use to know are my eyeglasses to the point that everytime we travel to another place I keep on buying new ones. It has been a habit for me to visit an eyeglass shop, check the Men’s Reading Glasses section and buy a new pair eyeglasses for me to use for the rest of the vacation.

Sometimes shops are hard to find that it becomes an adventure for both us to have a long walk on the streets andlook for shops that are selling Inexpensive Reading Glasses under $20 like we were hunting for a hidden treasure. From that activity alone we just consider it as date because afterwards we watch a movie and have a great dinner after accomplishing the first mission of finding a new pair of eyeglasses as another unforgetful souvenir.

Malaysia Vacations for Everyone

I am a Malaysian and I invite you to make Malaysia your destination of choice for your next vacation. If you want to relax by the beach, trek the jungle, shoot the rapids, climb mountains, parasail, windsurf, scuba dive, snorkel or do any other such things, think Malaysia. If you like to enjoy the buzz of the city, shop at classy malls, find bargains, be entertained, have fun with your kids or experience any other such things, think Malaysia. If you wish to vacation where East meets West, think Malaysia. Malaysia has it all. Skycrapers such as the Petronas Twin Towers, state-of-the-art facilities, world class accommodation, international and local entertainment, global and regional brands are all found in Malaysia. At the same time, lush rainforests among the oldest in the world, exotic plants and intriguing animals, majestic mountain ranges and iridescent and pristine seas that hug miles of unspoiled beaches all find their home in Malaysia.

Is it expensive? Not at all! A vacation in Malaysia is very affordable compared to many other countries in the same region. $1 is approximately RM3.30 and one can vacation in Malaysia for literally a few dollars a day. Backpacker lodges and motels are aplenty all offering the thrifty traveler very reasonable accommodation at affordable prices. Other countries in the region may be cheaper but offer so much less in terms of places of interest, things to do, entertainment spots and recreational facilities.

If you are seeking a quality vacation with a difference, I will share with you what is in store for you in Malaysia.

If you are the adventurous type, try climbing to the peak of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, East Malaysia. At 4096 m (about 13, 350 ft) high, it stands head and shoulders above all other peaks in the Crocker Range. It is the highest mountain in South-East Asia. But the unique thing is that its summit is just below the snow-belt and that means anyone even without specialist training or equipment can climb to its peak as long as you are fit enough.

Did you know that the very first series of ‘Survivor’ was shot entirely at Pulau Tiga, a tiny island part of Sabah? Then there are the Mulu Caves in Sarawak, the largest cave chamber in the world. Walking into its interior is an experience like no other. In Malaysia, you can find the largest flower in the world, the Rafflesia. Catch a glimpse of the Proboscis monkey, the species of monkey with the largest and most prominent nose of all or scuba dive into some of nature’s most beautiful coral-laden waters swarming with colorful sea creatures you have never seen in Redang, Perhentian or Sipadan Islands. Try eating the durian, a thorny fruit with a distinct taste and smell. The durian is called the King of Fruits by the locals.

If you are the city-loving type, enjoy the sights and sounds of metropolitan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city. Mega shopping malls that sell international brands of goods and services, street bazaars that promote local products and souvenirs and roadside vendors that sell trinkets are all found here. Be entertained at Malaysia’s world-class entertainment spots such as Genting the City of Entertainment. Genting Highlands also houses Malaysia’s premier casino where you can try your hand at all sorts of games of chance. There are plenty of entertainment options for the children and young people from theme parks, cineplexes, educational places of interest such as the Petronas Science Center and lots more.

For the culturally inclined, you can catch fascinating cultural dances, traditional occupations such as basket weaving, kite flying, top spinning competitions, batik (a local style of cloth and design) printing, traditional music and plenty more. Buy locally made handicraft of all kinds as a remembrance of your visit. Muzium Negara is the national museum of Malaysia. It houses a plethora of artifacts, displays and exhibitions that detail the history, tradition, culture and lifestyle of Malaysia.

If you want to learn about the history of Malaysia, there is no better place to visit than Malacca. The state of Malacca is where the earliest settlers to Malaysia first arrived. In Malacca you can still see remnants of previous colonial powers that ruled Malaysia centuries ago. The remains of the famous fort A Formosa built by the Portugese in the 16th Century still stands, as do the Stadhuys, unique brick-red buildings built by the Dutch about a hundred years later.

All these wonderful experiences await you in Malaysia. Whatever you would like to experience or enjoy, come to Malaysia and discover it for yourself.

Christchurch New Zealand Has A Selection Of Christchurch Backpackers

Sep 19, 2008 in Vacation sites

Before you decide where to stay in Christchurch New Zealand, it is worth taking the time to consider all the options. You may be staying in Christchurch on business, checking up on family, or just touring around. You may be on a budget, searching for a luxurious romantic getaway or after comfortable accommodation with facilities to suit your needs.

It does not take long by international comparison to get to the central city from any of the suburbs.

If you prefer to stay in the country, among some of our sheep, then you will be able to stay in the country with less than a 30 minute drive to be in the city. Even during peak travel times it would take around 45 minutes.

Christchurch has a population of around 368,000 people.

Luxury Hotels Christchurch

From the beaches to the central city is roughly a 15 to 30 minute drive. By bus you will be looking at 25 to 40 minutes plus any time spent waiting for the next bus.

Christchurch streets are laid out in a network of squares with many streets nestled in behind the main streets. Hotels, motels, apartments and even bed and breakfasts can be found in places less obvious to the tourist.

Christchurch Beaches

Like any city, Christchurch also has places you will not necessarily be aware of. One of our fancied spots is the suburb of Sumner found on the beach at the foot of the Port Hills.

Here is a village with very much its own village atmosphere and a holiday type setting. There are a selection of Christchurch beaches where you will find a place to stay, most of the other beaches are on a more open strip of beach front from South Brighton up to Spencer Park.

There are some delightful places to stay on the Port Hills, the backdrop to Christchurch City. Places to stay on the hills tend to be more the homestay or bed and breakfast type of accommodation.

Christchurch New Zealand

Most of the large Christchurch Hotels are found in the Christchurch Central Business District, although there are also a few out by the airport. There are Christchurch hotels with a smaller offering of accommodation found in across Christchurch including Christchurch beaches, the suburbs and the Christchurch rural area.

Rangiora is a township to the north of Christchurch. Many people commute from there to their work in the city. To stay away from the city, you may enjoy a stay either in Rangiora or in the rural area between there and the city.

The country area around Christchurch offers a selection of homestays, farmstays or bed and breakfast accommodation as well as a choice of lodges.
